June Grade 2 News 2016

June is here already and the grade two students are busy finishing up projects and getting ready for the summer holidays.  We have decided to do the ABC countdown like the grade 1s but with a few variations.

We look forward to our upcoming field trip on June 6th to the Telus Sparks Science Centre. In addition to touring the facility, we will also be doing a Magnetism Workshop that focuses on one of our Science topics. We are also studying Buoyance and Boats in the classroom and will be making our own boats later this month.

For Social Studies we are having lots of fun studying about life in the past.  Students are bringing in their information, working on posters and will be hosting an artifact museum for parents to come and view.  Date is TBA.

The focus in math continues to be about measurement and 2D and 3D shapes.

Poetry is our last Language Arts writing unit and we continue to work on developing our reading skills.

Thanks to Clay for Kids for teaching us how to make a wonderful Father’s Day project.

Ms. Bradish and Mrs. Kohler have enjoyed teaching your children this year.  Best wishes for a safe and fun-filled summer holiday!
